Character Name: Doppelganger
Canon Name: Tomb Raider: Underworld
Canon Point: At the end of the Lara's Shadow DLC Expansion for the Xbox 360.
History (as the Wiki states nothing): After the events of Tomb Raider Legend, Lara's once-friend-turned-enemy Amanda wanted someone who could get her Wraith Stone back from Lara. Seeking out Natla, an Atlantian Demi-God, Amanda received a clone of Lara Croft, matching her in intelligence and skill though with extras. Unlike the doppelganger that Natla created in Tomb Raider, this one was skinned and clothed and from far away could be mistaken for the female adventurer. Once she was created, Natla used the thrall command to control her and ordered her to listen to Amanda...for the moment.
The first time she appeared she blew up Croft Manor after retrieving the Wraith Stone from the vault by using the retina scanner. Zip had mistaken her for Lara and was convinced it was she who had blown up the mansion. When Lara had checked the security room to find out what happened, she made contact with a surprised Lara and mimicked her every move, trying to convince her she was just like the doppelganger from the Great Pyramid. However once Alistar stumbled into room she turned and shot the man, killing him right in front of her original. Lara tried to shoot her, but she used her shadow ability in order to dodge the bullets and beat Lara down. Then she ran off with the stone in hand and went back to Amanda's ship in order to receive further orders from Natla.
The next time she appeared was when Lara freed Natla on the ship in order for her to perform Odin's Ritual and open the gates to Heilheim. Doppelganger listened to only Natla and tossed Amanda down in the boat. Then she ran off, only to reappear at the Arctic sea in order to finish off Lara. Once the gates had opened and Lara discovered her mother was a thrall, she stepped in to finish Lara once and for all. Amanda had followed them and used her Wraith Stone to throw her over the edge into the Thrall eitr. It was presumed she had died.
Fortunately for her she managed to land on the ground below rather hard and had just been knocked out for a while. Waking up, Doppelganger sought out Natla and found her in Heilheim in bad shape. For the moment she seemed to be under her own control and enjoyed Natla's deteriorating condition. However the demi-god used the phrase “Okh Eshivar”, a command that had her under control again. Natla ordered her to bring the dying demi-god to her birth place and helped settle Natla into her healing machine. The machine had no power and she had to set off to reactivate the transformer to give it power. After repairing the machine, Natla gave final instructions to Doppelganger. She ordered her to find and kill Lara Croft, then end her own life. Although she was in under Natla's control, she still had her own thoughts and feelings and resented the fact that her creator wanted nothing more to with her, all because she had Lara's face. She loathed Natla for suggesting she take her life, though sought out Lara anyway because of the command. Four days later under the ruined Croft Manor, she planned on killing her original. By then Lara learned the phrase to control her and used it, stopping her from carrying out Natla's orders. Once finding out all she wanted, Lara ordered her to no longer obey orders and freed Doppelganger from her curse. Then Lara told her to make sure Natla suffered, knowing that Doppelganger was going to kill her. Going back to the healing chamber, she destroyed the transformer and knocked the healing pod from it's high perch. The rubble had trapped Natla in a pool of slowly rising eitr. Doppelganger taunted the demi-god and watched in satisfaction as Natla drowned while crying out for the thralls to come and save her.
Personality: In many ways Doppelganger's personality is very similar to Lara's. She is adventurous, intelligent, confident, and rarely shows fear in very dangerous situations. This makes her seem rather arrogant. In a way she is more childish than her original and is a little darker. Her personality is more like AOD Lara than the one from her continuity. The most prominent component to her personality is cockiness. She enjoys making jokes to make the receiver squirm or become irritated and/or outright angry. This doesn't get to shine until after the main game, as she does no talking until the expansion.
She also has a rather vindictive streak and enjoys watching those who have wronged her suffer. This is made most evident in the DLC addition. Natla had ordered her to kill herself once she finished off Lara. In return for the command Doppelganger taunted a dying Natla about her machine being broken and reveled in watching her drown in the dangerous eitr while she cried out for help.
When comparing herself to her original, she finds herself to be the superior of the two. She believes herself to be Lara without her flaws (obsession and compulsion). This reasoning comes from her lack of hesitation in killing as well the fact she has physically beat Lara on two separate occasions during the game. The only reason she was defeated was by interference from Amanda and her Wraith Stone. Otherwise she would have easily killed Lara. She also enjoys mimicking her originals movements as she can anticipate what Lara is going to do next. This comes from the DNA used in her making and was a carry over from the original doppelganger in the Great Pyramid.
Doppelganger will not follow commands anymore now that she is free from the "Ohk eshivar" command. This does not mean she won't honor requests or never do what she is told. However she will take into consideration how these requests affect her directly before disregarding or following through with it. She enjoys her new found free will and will do anything she can to protect it.
Being as young as she is, it is understandable that she is a little childish at times. Much of the aspects of her personality are due to the fact that she is young. It is hinted that she inherited Lara's memories, but that doesn't mean she will follow normal human adult behavior either.
Abilities: The most featured ability Doppelganger has is her Shadow Ability. She is able to slow time for herself in order to clear hazardous obstacles and climb up treacherous rocky walls. This ability does not effect those around her and rather people will see her moving rather fast or in some cases like she teleported. This power also gives her the ability to shoot incredibly rapidly, punch her opponents really hard, as well as kicking the ground hard enough to knock people back with a shockwave. She also uses this to help her clear extremely far gaps.
Her physiology is much stronger than a humans. She is able to endure many hits and keep on going and fall from incredibly high heights and not die. If any damage is done to her body, it heals after a short amount of time. However this does not mean she is immortal. If a height is too high or the damage to her body is too great, she will die.
Inherited from her original is her skill in acrobatics. She is incredibly flexible and able to jump far distances from a standing or running position. Also she can do all sorts of flips to evade attacks or clear obstacles. Another trait inherited is Lara's skills in hand to hand combat. Incidentally she is better at them than her original is.
